Petalite

I bought a very beautiful, and big, peice of Petalite- which the Crystal Bible refers to as "rare and expensive", for cheaper than I have found peices of Quartz. It has a beautiful shimmer on the bottom, and it's energy is unlike any stone I have felt. I am so in love with it. Has anyone else gotten a chance to hold this treasure?

I have a blue / yellow piece of tourmaline that refuses to travel without me, a clear piece of topaz, and a aqua quartz for increased intensity / clarity.. i used to have several pieces of spogueme kunzite + clear variety for increased love connection and a double terminated tourmaline piece from brazil that i would carry with me where ever i went, however i have since parted with those crystals.. i carried kunzite with me for almost 2 years straight, but the one piece i have now isnt a pocket piece.

Merkabite calcite

Recently I acquired some merkabite calcite which has an enthusiastic write up in The Book of Stones which I think it deserves. It's a third eye or higher chakra stimulator but with a softness to it. I would like to find some more with which to gift people, but since I don't do the shows I don't really have a network of sellers to which I can turn. The pieces I recently got came from a very knowledgeable seller in England, but even he gets it only sporadically, and it would be nice to find a supplier in the USA from which the stone originates in the first place. Any ideas out there?

Zinnwaldite

Zinnwaldite is a new one for me. Feels something like the lithium micas such as lepidolite mica but with a litle more electricity to it. It is sometimes associated with tin, and I think my piece is showing tin or something metallic anyway. This could just be mica however. It does not cleave like mica but is micacious. Anyone else grokking zinnwaldite?

Companionship in stones?

Do your stones have partners or companion stones? Do they seem to want the company of another of their same type of stone, or a piece from a whole other portion of the planet? Or are they 'anti-social' and prefer to be by themselves?

I've three labradorite hexagons that prefer the company of each other, and don't work well when alone or paired with others; but not far from them is a tumbled yellow calcite that seems to adore the presence of a rough garnet. My clear quartz sphere seems reluctant to get to work without its smokey partner, but the morion tablet I wear on my person seems to want no company at all.

What about you guys?

Lemurian Crystal...

I am fairly new to crystal energy and the experience thereof. I am presently wearing Jasper, and have also experienced Spectralite(Labradorite). I just bought (but have yet to receive) a 6" long Lemurian Seed Crystal from Brazil...

I have read a bit about these crystals, but would appreciate any and all advice on how best to open to this new energy...

crystal singing bowls

Mmmmmmm, I am the luckiest girl in the whole world. Last night I set up my new set of crystal singing bowls. All 7 of them, from sizes 8 inches to 11, one for each chakra, tuned to each note respectively. I sat with them all in a row and peacefully played them until my heart could stand no more perfect vibrations. Today I plan on sitting in the middle of them all, circled around me, and have a nice little meditative session with them. Just thought you would all like to know and could enjoy my excitement with me. If anyone in the seattle area wants some sound healing, let me know!

I AM posting this Amazing Invocation and Meditation
We have been using and teaching it since many years, and it is absolutely great !!
It really saved me in times of great turmoil and chaos.
For many of our students it has become one of the main ways to get Guidance and answers to questions, especially in challenging times. It can also help you get messages and communicate with the Angelic realm.
The Angels are Beings of Light that are there to help and assist us in our life and evolution, but they have no permission to intervene in our lives unless we call on them or ask for their help. Except from your Guardian Angel that can intervene to save your life or protect you.
So to get help from the Angels, you can Pray to them and ask for their assistance, you can work with Angel Cards, and you can use this meditation.
Try all of the methods, working with the Angels is completely Devine and Blissful.

You can use this Meditation as a meditation and take your time with it. Invoking one Archangel at a time and then meditating and visualizing the things you asked for. Chrysocolla in my ears

I had been wearing green tourmaline crystals in my ears since about Feb. this year. I had never worn much of anything in my ears because they are so sensitive (only high grade sterling silver or surgical steel would work with my skin). I had never gaged my ears up before, but I found some small tourmalines and shoved them through my tiny holes and once they healed they felt amazing. Tourmaline is a stone I have connected with ever since I first found it. My only problem with the whole gaged up ear thing was what I call "ear funk." If you know anyone with ear holes bigger than a basic piercing you might know about it. My ears released this white substance that stunk and there would be times when I could smell it without even touching my ears. I actually, years ago, took out my eyebrow piercing because of said funk. Everyone I know with gaged ears has this, one of my boyfriends roommates actually enjoys the smell, but it makes me sick to my stomach.

But I was dealing with it. Hell, I had green tourmalines in my ears and that was all that mattered!

About a month ago, not even, I was at a rock shop and the guy who owned the place was really into lapidary work and had a bunch of stones he had polished down especially for body jewellry. He had this pair of gorgeous chrysocolla plugs that were slightly bigger than my tourmalines and I was so drawn to them that I had to get them. Stuck them in my ears, let them heal, and now....................................................... I have no ear funk!!

I have never worked with chrysocolla before, so I don't really the properties of it, but I am in awe that I have no smell in my ears anymore. My boyfriend has had gaged ears for almost 10 years, putting everything from bone to wood to metal to clay in his ears and he has never ever once not had ear funk. I have never known a person with gaged ears that doesn't have a smell protruding from them. But I don't anymore! I can sit there and play with my ears all day long and I never have smelly fingers afterwards.

Wow, I am realizing that probably none of you want to hear about funk in ears. But this is pretty amazing, if you ask me. I have found a new love for this stone and must know more about it.

Holey stones

Does anybody know anything about this stone? I heard that it is a waste product of carbon, but I can't find anything on it. It's a beautiful stone. It's black with colors of green, blue and purple (violet). I would like to know if there is any metaphysical or healing properties to it and where I might find something written about it.

Praises for Black Kyanite

I have mentioned this before in other tribes...Black kyanite is awesome at transforming menstral cramps!

I was just moments ago doubled over in pain. The kind of cramps that put you straight to bed w/ no supper....

I had enough sence to grab one of my chunks of black kyanite and lay her on my soar spot before I passed out in agony.....

.... I slept for maybe 12 minutes and dritftd in and out floating between the veils for another 10 or something.... and presto, the cramps are gone!

If you know anyone into crystals, find out where you can get some. It is magical at all kids of energy balancing. I medicine bag must, in my humble "opin i yoni"...

Buy the biggest chunks you can get a hold of. If you can only find small pieces make a yummy red velvet pouch for them. Actually that is a good idea no matter what size you find 'cause it is rough and jagged....

If anyone knows of any good sources of Black kyanite please share it here w/ our sisters.

Going to the gem show? Pick some up. Your crampy sisters will love you forever..... and tell a friend.

You may need to keep it with you all day for reapplication.

kyanite is self clearing. In my exp. it likes to discharge sometimes on dry earth or in the sun for an hour.

If you clear your cramps or other heavy energy give it a little break before you use it on the next person.

Sugalite & // or Charolite

.... i recently attended a "festival".... where i had NO planz of seeking out a gemstone // crystal purchase ... when i entered the "fairgrounds" i firstly encountered a "booth" with a MOST AMAZING series of vastly differently cut stones .... i was immediately drawn to it ... it's energy it's weight ... it's beauty ... lovely shades of lavender ... dark purple... nearly blue black in some of the stones.... i was told it was sugalite .... the vendor also gave me another pendant as a gift which he said was charolite .... in speaking with differing sources thereafter ... i was told it couldn't possiblhy be sugalite as it was "only"
a hundred dollars for at least 40 cut stones .... i have an un~before experienced draw to this stone and am curious if anyone could elabourate on both the Sugalite and Charolite .... as several "savvy" friendz have had difficulty deterimining which of the pendants (one is reportedly charolite with a moonstone rock on top of it the "other" above mentioned in description) is Sugalite // Charolite ....
Any insights appreciated ....

quartz spheres - can you help?

Hey there! just joined, nice bunch of people gathered here it seems.

Ok, so im just gonna throw it out to this community because you seem like the kind of folk in the know about these things.

I have been reading Michael Katz book Gemstone Gardians..quite good, and have found the information quite interesting. Ive had a little practice with crystals before and am attuned to reiki so the idea of spherical stones makes perfect sence to me, always attracting and simultaneously projecting, balanced and incredibly potent energy. Just like all the planets... but I digress..

Im after a optical quality quartz sphere, about 2-3" inch, totaly clear and (if I could just get the genie on my side - a lemurian quartz) it would be nice to find one under a couple of hunred bucks. So far ive not turned up much and ive been led to post intent in other ways. So here I am. Anyhow if you know of any leads, sites, or people I could contact that sell genuine quartz, clean, and good quality spheres i'd be very greatful.

lemurian crystals

lately I just seem to be so attracted to them as well as record keepers. I currently sleep with a lemuian that has a black inclusion. I just purchased 3 new lemurians that are so filled with light.
I've been having such amazing dreams, although I wake up feeling "tired", as though I've been in school all night!

What experiences have you had working with lemurian crystals?

Parting Gift for Twin Flame

My Twin Flame might be moving away soon and I would like to give him a token of my love and to let him know that I wish him well and that I'll always love him unconditionally. I need ideas for this parting gift as well as ideas for an inscription. I want to give him a Garnet to protect him from the dangers of travelling and well as to ensure his safe return. What are other stones that protect against theft or are good for travellers?

I was thinking of an everyday style (something a surfer might like), so that he can wear the gem on a cord it without worrying about having it ripped from his neck. My best idea so far is purchasing an estate garnet and having it recut so that it is a cabouchon. He is a very classy guy, so nothing tacky or gaudy will do. If anyone has any ideas about designs, other options on how to present a garnet to my lover, or knows if it is possible to do a laser inscription on the stone itself, please let me know. Thank you!

carved crystal drilled and filled with gold

These are drilled and have gold rods or gemstones inserted in the bottom . I'm all for art and beauty but these do not seem to be a natural expression of the nature and mission of these actual crystals.
the design and inserts seems imposed rather than brought forth from meditation with the crystals and stones . They seem dead or wounded and sad. the little stones seem trapped inside the crystals.
I have not carved crystals myself but have done woodcarving and ceramic work and in that work one often finds the design springs forth from the wood or clay.
I looked at the rest of the site and there are other pages of crystals some of which seem even more abused to me.I'm not sure why these effect me like this I've seen many carved crystals that do seem harmonious and positive not sure what the difference is. I wish there were something we could do but I got that even sending the crystal healing energy would not be accepted because if one helped ease the pain one might make the crystals more sell able and make the problem worse.
I'm not opposed to all carving. Sometimes its part of the purpose of the crystal but these do not seem to have been made with the consent of the stones and or with positive awareness and connection.
Supposedly these and some pendants and Mala on other page were made with spiritual intention but it sure does not resonate as a blessing to me. Perhaps strangely I recall going to museum exhibitions of work from Fabrege' and Tiffany which included carved and ornamented crystal as gems which were in some ways similar or made for more mundane purposes , pens baby rattles boxes etc. and those did not have the dead or negative energy . Even though there was no spiritual purpose in the making of those pieces they seemed positive in energy and awareness perhaps because they were created with respectful attention and intention.

Polished stones are less likely to allow elixirs, etc. to leach any potentially hazardous materials. Rough stones are most likely.
In general, almost all blue and green stones, especially brightly colored ones, contain copper and are unsafe to use for conventional gem elixirs, etc.
Shiny, metallic stones should be avoided.
Don't handle stones containing arsenic, such as realgar, or mercury, such as cinnabar without protective gloves. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling them. These stones are extremely toxic.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling potentially toxic stones.
Keep all potentially harmful stones (including small, bite-sized stones that aren't necessarily toxic!) out of reach of children for safety.

Indirect method of preparing an elixir:
Fill a glass bowl with spring water. Place the crystal in a seperate glass or jar. Put the glass/jar in the bowl of water so that the stone does not touch the water. Let it sit in the sun or moonlight as desired. When it's ready drink the water which has now been charged with the energies of the crystal.

Primary Working Stones

What stones are your primary focus in your various works, and why? What do they represent to you? How do you feel they help you accomplish your tasks, or do they just make your life a bit easier?

As for myself:

Labradorite, Morion quartz, and regular old clear Quartz are my three primary stones. I work a bit with Moonstone and Garnet as well, but I feel so very drawn to working with the first three. Labradorite is my balance stone, Morion is my 'void' stone, and Quartz is my energy stone. The Labradorite helps keep me grounded, while the Morion syphons off the excess so that it doesn't build up, and the Quartz provides the extra umph that I occasionally need. In general though, just having them around makes me feel a lot better.

As for the Moonstone and Garnet, I wear the former at almost all times to help with clarity of thought and speech, and to help keep me a bit more passive. :3 The Garnet is usually kept about my working space and sleeping area to help promote health and in general good feelings. I recently acquired three large almondine garnets to go with the three tiny rough specimens I have, and I love to just hold them.

so I have a crystal for my son, it is a little flourite wand that I got while I was pregnant and it just felt like the baby wanted it. So now that he is holding things I let him hold it and suck on it because it has one rounded end and one pointed end. I usually have my hand right under his incase he drops it, but today in the co op he did drop it and it broke in half, exactly in half, I am very sad about this. Now I want to put it back together in some kind of leather wrap so that he can still have it. What are you're opinions on this. Do crystals just break or is there always a reason, what should I do, go to the crystal shop and let him pick a new one, help me I am freaking out!

Bad dream after sprinkling dried lavender on my crystals

This evening before getting into bed, I opened my crystals pouch. I saw that the wire wrap on my watermelon tourmaline pendant and on my clear quartz pendulum had tarnished, so I cut the wire away, and nestled them next to a dried lavender wreath. I thought that the healing vibes of the lavender would be a good place of refreshment for those two until I could cleanse them properly. On impulse, because I love the scent of lavender, I gathered up some of the tiny dried blossoms which had fallen off the wreath, and put them in the pouch, which still had an assortment of stones and crystals in it - including strawberry quartz, chrysocolla, moss agate, sunstone, red jasper, aventurine and aqua aura.

I went to sleep with this pouch, and two hours later I awoke from a very disturbing dream, in which I was felt I had opened myself to a hostile entity - I said, "I open myself...", it came into me, and then I thought to add, "...only to good spirits." After that, my cats were afraid of me. I alternated between trying to explore the power this gave me (trying to shoot fire from my fingers) and trying to expel it by saying the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23 but feeling my throat close off before I could finish.

When I woke up, I was much reassured that my cats are not freaked out by me. I have smudged myself, my room, and all the crystals in my room. I've got the tourmaline and the quartz soaking in sea salt water in preparation for a gentle scrubbing to get that tarnish off.

Any thoughts on what this dream was meant to tell me? A "We don't like living with lavender" or "we need to be cleared more often" from the crystals, or a warning to be careful of what I'm willing to absorb?

twin/empathy crystal

I got a double-terminated twin quartz about a month ago. I was excited to be able to feel its vibration when I opened the package, after having bought it on eBay. Some of the reading I've been doing on it suggests twin or empathy crystals get keyed to just one person, and should be used by the person keeping them, for her or himself. Weird though, yesterday, as my boyfriend was going to bed so he could get up early for work this morning, I got worried by how tired and pale he looked. I knew I couldn't hover over him, or keep watch all night, so l reached into my pocket, pulled out the twin crystal in its little pouch, and handed it to him. I'm not sure if I was hoping that it would watch over him for me, and alert me to any trouble he might have, or if it might do a bit of healing for him.

Any thoughts on how true it is that empathy crystals are one-person crystals, and the thought it might help my honey was just a random, baseless thought?

Bedroom Crystal Gridding

I'm renovating my bedroom. My partner and I are finally moving into the same room after 6 years together and I wanted to make it as comfortable as possible. I would really like any advice regarding to gridding the room. Theme of stone/crystal combinations

At, of all places, a truck stop, I found a variety of tumbled stones - originally packaged as geology educational toys for kids, on clearance sale. So I got myself a nice selection - figuring I could make gifts of jewelry if none of them wanted to work with me. When I got home I used my pendulum to ask which stones were ones I needed.

Moss Agate
Jasper - red and brown
Sunstone
Aventurine - this is a darker green than most of the pictures I see, but I did find one that was as dark, so I don't doubt the identification.

As I read up on these crystals at pjentoft's site, I find that grounding and emotional balance are two themes that run through the abilities of them. I'd love to hear from others who have worked with crystals in combinations.

meditating with crystals

The other day, I was doing a simple meditation - just concentrating on breathing for a while. Then I took out the double-terminated enhydro crystal I had in my pocket, and started looking closely at it. It's not a perfect specimen, lots of chips and fractures, etc. I think that just makes it a more interesting and beautiful crystal - so much to look at and in every light a little different. While doing this, the word "pendulum" came into my mind, so I have done a crocheted wire wrap around it so it can be used as a pendulum. I've not worked with a pendulum before, but I am looking forward to where this path will take me.

What do y'all do, when meditating with your crystals?

Another new and important healer came out 2 years ago from India.The mineral is Heulandite and this specific occurence produces amazing wing like crystals.The crystals are hand collected in the djungle of Maharastra and activated. Crystal Healing grid?

Hello to all =)

Well, i finally got my beautiful lemurian seed quartz, and last night whilst meditating with it, i was "instructed" to re-do my altar set-up, and to create a crystal grid, using crystals i have. I was given a brief visual of what the outcome would be for the setup of the grid (i have never done one, and i am still fairly new to crystal healing, well, in this lifetime!) and was interested in the meaning of the layout of crystals! I wish i could draw it, but i guess i will have to try to explain it to give you the visual! Here goes:

Visualise This:
~On a smallish square table, i placed a large paper pentagram talisman i drew in the center (the star in silver, black background, and an inch thick ring of continuous rainbow colours, like a serpent, around the pentagram).
~Altar set up was basic, with a vase of fresh flowers at the middle top, Goddess symbols and candle top left, God symbols and candle top right.
~Crystals were set-up on top of the pentagram (point up), which in this case to me represented my physical body (top point being my head!).
~Crystals were set up in a straight line, and corresponded to chakras:
**Root/base - small polished Red tiger's eye
**Sacral and Naval - large, part cut part natural citrine
**Heart - natural Aventurine
**Throat - polished Lapis Lazuli
**Third Eye - natural point Amethyst
**Crown - natural point Apophyllite
**Next to crown (either side) polished moonstone on left, labradorite on right.
At the base (below the tigers eye) was a pewter dragonfly (a symbol of self to me) with a small pointed piece of quartz crystal attached onto the end of its tail, pointing up towards the "crown" of the line of crystals.

Around the pentagram, i had 4 large crystals in a square shape. Middle Right was a fairly large piece of natural Rose Quartz, Bottom Right was Green Agate, Middle Left was a large flat piece of Selenite, and my Lemurian laser was at the bottom left.... i "sensed" the meanings of these crystals to be love, healing, light and wisdom (respectively).

Still with me? =)

Basically, once i'd set it up, i meditated in front of the altar by candle light, holding my lemurian seed again, and then two words got "stuck" in my head: Goddess Healing. I received a few other personal messages which i will keep to myself, however i am still amazed at how clearly i was instructed to set up my altar, and "told" of the meaning of the placement of each crystal. I have received messages before during meditations with individual crystals, but have never been instructed to set up a grid! What do you guys think the grid is for? Is it a general balancing/harmonising grid or something more? Goddess healing? Or maybe my new Lemurian friend simply requested a "home" with friends, set up in a way that would be most beneficial to it, and to me?!

I was so excited about this experience, i just wanted to share... what are your comments?

Hiddenite is the green gem variety of the mineral spodumene. Spodumene
is a common mineral, but transparent gem forms occur in only a few select localities. One gem form is the pink kunzite, and another is green Hiddenite. Very few people know that True Hiddenite even exists.

there are alien entities "just" visiting in my REM states of consciousness, i feel more intuned to interaction with these forces of energy from outside with a 13.1g chunk of terminated blue / yellow tourmaline under my pillow.. eases the communication / bridges the gap btw my conscious energy & theirs... i also keep a 105.3g chunk of kunzite for good messure (helps when i feel lost inside my lazernith dreamscapes...

Emeralds

Any myths, legends, superstitions, oppinions, magikal uses or healing properties to share about these stones?

I really dig wearing them... they 'sing' for me and seem to lighten my hear quite a bit. They are the only green stone I can tollerate wearing.. the rest seem to slip thru my fingers and into the hands of friends.

something about the dichroic blue flash in them is verrrrry special.

Let me know, 'cause we're planning a little expedition around town to shop for the world's best deals...during this annual event there are MANY shows in various venues and EVERY hotel room in town is rented until after Valentines day with people from all over the world who have brought their best stuff to Tucson for the Gem Show...

Why we're here

OK, as tribe moderator this is the post where I explain what I'm trying to do and my connection with crystals.

...I don't remember how I got into it but it was a slow process; at first I (coming from an Athiest background) did not believe that they could possibly hold any metaphysical value, but over time I have grown to be able to communicate with my gems and I feel like I use them in a way that is genuinely helpful to myself and others. At the same time I feel like it can be hard to communicate verbally about the metaphysical aspects of crystals because they are all so unique and have their own personalities and unique relationships with those who find and carry them.

I have a collection of beads and I have been stringing my own intricate necklaces for myself and my friends on and off for 2 years or so. It's odd because I'm completely straight, but people look at me funny when I wear a necklace around -- but to me it feels like medicine, not jewelry (but of course it is pretty, too). I connect especially well with Moldavite, Tourmaline, Garnet, Citrine, Tiger Iron, among others.

What I want this tribe to function as is open forum for all things about crystals and their healing properties -- picking out the right one, how to activate a crystal, how to clear a crystal, info and/or links to crystal resources, metaphysical stores that sell good crystals for a good price, and of course feel free to put any pretty or significant pictures of crystals in the photo gallery... you get the point.

The bottom line is for this to be a healing zone, no bad vibes or name-calling, please... not that I'm worried that's what will happen here.

Oursing!!!

When I was in Tuscon this year for the Gem and Mineral show I felt a lot of sorrow from the crystals that where cleer cut like the forest... I spent a good amount of time praying for them and sending them good loving vibrations of peace for them to carry with them to all areas of the world. I had to go spend a couple of days out in the desert to ground and recoup my energy. I began to find this beautiful lavender agate/quartz that i began to Ours... This is when I had this evenstanding with the Earth that I wanted to become an Ourser rather than a Miner. I only picked up what came easily to me and trusted that... I chose at that point not to buy stones that looked like they had been !@#$ out of the Earth... Be well my freinds and spread the conciousness of the Earth in a good way and remeber we are in the Great Shift!!!

Help with Reiki

Hey all. I will be working with my sister soon. She has Lymphoma. I have a good idea of how I will use certain minerals, but wanted some other opinions. If anyone's dealt with Lymphoma or other blood related cancers, any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I'm thinking. I know spheres are ideal, but this is what I have.

Hematite - Large rough - blood purification
Garnet - chip strands - blood purification, physical strength/fatigue
Malachite - looking for specimine - transformation
Moonstone - looking for specimine - opens lymph system
Sodalite - sphere - strengthens lymph system
Smokey Quartz - sphere - draw negativity

Any of your thoughts, opinions, ideas, experiences, or any other guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Its a little quiet in here. I would be interested in hearing about one of everyones fav stone. I know most of us have many, many, many... My most favorite is selenite. For me it is so full of white expansive light. I add it to almost all of my personal and professional healing sessions.

Who trades?

I am not interested in money, only exchange.

I'm looking to find a home for my Malachite ball. It's a beautiful ball, but it's pieced; meaning they constituted it using a partial sphere, smaller chips, and molten fill. It's not a perfect-surface sphere. None the less it's a beautiful piece. It's right around three inches, which is rare for a Malachite ball. I haven't measured it preciseley.

The larger, more expensive pieces I collect are Ritual Tools and I use them for Healing and I will not be using this piece for either, which is why I am willing to part with it. I actually need Malachite specifically for some healing work I'll be doing soon, so I'd be interested in large rough, or lightly polished free forms.

If anyone has items they are not too attached to and are willing to trade or if you're interested in this piece, let me know. It's beautiful. I prefer to work with spheres and large, natural specimins, but we can talk about anything you're willing to barter. I got it for $120, the man was asking $130. It doesn't matter what your stones costed you, but I'm looking for a trade that will be comparable to what I put out for this piece.
